The assignment for this project was to take a garment from past fashion trends and make it into something current. Since corsets are coming back into style I decided to take that idea and create an 1870-style dress but with a punk girl twist. The shoulders and legs exposed represent freedom and the black tulle is shaped in a way that allows our model to run free which is the opposite of the original meaning.
